2022 CTPF Health Insurance Advisory

CTPF 2022 Health Insurance open enrollment will conclude on October 31, 2021. If you are satisfied with your current plan, there is nothing you need to do to remain enrolled. However, please be aware that at this time of year, there are many companies which solicit you with all types of Medicare advertisements via U.S. Mail, television, newspapers and other publications as well as social media.

Please be cautious and don’t make a costly mistake. It is necessary to evaluate other plans to determine if they will better address your needs before you make a change. If you enroll in any of the non-CTPF options, you will be disenrolled from your CTPF Health insurance plan by Medicare. If you do so; and later realize that the new plan doesn’t address your needs, you will have to wait until the next open enrollment period in October 2022 to reenroll for 2023. You can only rejoin a CTPF plan without a qualifying plan once in your lifetime. In prior years, significant numbers of CTPF members were most disillusioned to learn that enrolling in a non CTPF Medicare plan caused them to lose access to their CTPF Medicare Health Insurance and that returning was not simple. Proceed with caution.
If you have questions, please contact CTPF Member Services at memberservices@ctpf.org or call (312)641-4464 on or before Friday, October 29, 2021.
