CONTINUED VIGILANCE REQUIRED
HB 3827 proposed a drastic change to the composition of the CTPF Board of Directors.
The committee hearing scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2011 was canceled.

HB 3827 was NOT called in the House Personnel and Pensions Committee on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.

A special THANK YOU to everyone who contacted their legislators.  It was through your efforts that this bill was not called for a hearing and never made it out of committee.

HB 3827 (click for a summary) as sponsored by Representatives Cross and Senger would replace the current 12 member CTPF Board of Directors (2 appointed, 10 elected- 6 teachers, 3 retirees and 1 principal/administrator), with a 7 person Board of Directors with 4 members appointed by the Mayor of Chicago and 3 elected members (1 retiree and 2 teachers) .  Click on this link if you would like to read the entire text of the bill.

NOTE: HB 3827 would also apply to ALL Chicago Pension funds - Police, Fire, etc.
