John Lillig began teaching in the upper grades at a parochial school before joining CPS. His CPS career included teaching upper grade elementary students, followed by teaching seventh and eighth grade core subjects at a Vocational Guidance Center. He concluded his career at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. He has also been active in his religious community where he has taught and served as a catechist and is also participates in a group called ‘Extending the Word’. He focuses on maintaining his health and enjoys reading, genealogy, and cooking.
