Roy Coleman

Roy Coleman has been an RTAC Director for six terms. He has served as RTAC’s Webmaster, Assistant Editor of the News Bulletin, and Chairperson of the Communication Committee. A lifelong Chicago resident, Roy graduated from Morgan Park High School and earned degrees in Physics from IIT and De Paul University. He enjoyed a 40 year career as a CPS Physics teacher and also taught at IIT, St. Xavier University, and Trinity Christian College.

Currently, Roy oversees five websites including the RTAC and CRTAF sites and manages the RTAC electronic alert system. He is also a popular presenter of free seminars on computer and internet issues which RTAC provides to its members. In addition, he is a Director of the Chicago Public Schools Student Science Fair, Inc. and is a coordinator of the annual High School Bridge Building Competition.

Roy believes that RTAC must continue to maintain its position as an independent ‘watchdog’ to protect retired CPS educators’ pensions and health insurance options. He would like to see RTAC engage more members via social media.
